The Odes is a site dedicated to the promotion and distribution of the best unsigned College music. I conceived the idea floating down the Mekong River of Laos (cliché acknowledged) last year. The concept grew out the difficulty I had discovering and obtaining the music of very talented but unsigned College artists.

The Odes is an online artistic community based around College Campuses that aims to centralize the best of College music. Through the site and the participation of the site users we hope to provide a filter, so to speak, for much of the noise out there.

The Odes connects music lovers with the artists of their campus and provides a platform for a more vibrant music community on College Campuses. This site is not MTV; it is run by and to be used by artists and students.

Join the Odes and find great music near you. Who knew your shy neighbour wrote such incredible folk songs? Music expresses universal truth; it is about shared experience. Connect with the people nearest to you.

The Odes is first and foremost an online artistic community. However, the site offers the chance to support the artists that you love and help them to keep making their music.

The Odes takes no ownership of your music, nor do we ask that you sell exclusively on the Odes. There is no digital rights management software (DRM) on The Odes.

Artists collect 70% of the money from each song after it has made $5. The first $5 of each song covers our storage, bandwidth, and transaction costs for that song.
