Currently “The Odes” only supports MP3's. There are also no limits to the number of tracks you can upload. The maximum upload limit of an individual song is 10 MB.

Q3.  What happens with the money after I've bought/sold a track?
70% of revenue from all tunes sales will go straight to the artist. The rest goes towards storage, bandwidth and payment transaction. The artist is paid quarterly. The money will be deposited in the artists Paypal account pending a valid Paypal email address.

Yes. The Odes doesn't own the content in its registry. The Odes simply provides a forum by which music can be sold.

Yes. However, all of the rights holders in your group will need to consent to you, as their authorized representative.

Q8.  What if I sign with a record label in the future?
Good for you! If the record label wants exclusive distribution this will not be a problem. Remember you own the rights to your songs until you decide otherwise.

Q9.  Is “The Odes” a record label?
No. The Odes is not a record company because we do not sign any binding contracts with the artist, which transfers the rights of the songs to us. Furthermore, we do not produce the artist instead you produce yourself. However, if you are based in London and are interested with some help recording feel free to contact philiprenna@theodes.com

Q10.  How will the Odes help to promote me as an artist?
There are various means by which artists on the site are promoted. Through the “Top 10”, “Featured Artist”, “Most Recommended” and “What’s New” sections, the Odes promotes artists both established and new. We are an artistic community that brings together likeminded folk. Furthermore, we plan to orchestrate Odes gigs and tours.

Q11.  How do I become a featured artist?
We constantly scout the site for artists who deserve to be featured artists. You can give yourself more chance to be picked as an artist we love by making sure you include a good biography, a profile image and of course some fantastic tunes on your profile.

Q12.  How do I receive the song(s) I purchase?
The song will be downloaded to the “My Account” section. From there you have 24 hours to download it to your desktop.
